Lux Choir
Lux is a professional chamber choir based in Hyattsville, MD dedicated to excellence in choral performance & education, and to the belief that quality music-making need not sacrifice accessibility, nor care for one another. Napoli co-founded the choir alongside a group of six high school friends, growing out of a for-fun recording project in early 2015. Today, coming off of their recent ACDA Performance, they boast annual seasons of 4+ concert programs, a robust education program, and a community of passionate, talented, and dedicated professional singers.
Chesapeake Choirs
Napoli spent five years as the Choral Director at Chesapeake High School, in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, directing their Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and a cappella group, Evolve. During this time, the choirs at Chesapeake workshopped with composers, singers, & conductors from around the world, and earned superior ratings at District and State Festivals. Under his direction, Chamber Singers performed across the East Coast, and were requested for multiple invitational events, including the University of Maryland Choral Invitational and collaborations with nearby professional and school choirs. Singers from Chesapeake were named to various honor choirs, receiving state-high selections to Maryland’s All State Chorus in 2022 (11 singers), and 2024 (13). University of North Texas
During Napoli’s studies at UNT, he served as Associate Conductor for Vox Aquilae, the Music School’s early music choir, from 2024-2025. He was fortunate to work with Vox on Monteverdi madrigals in the Fall Semester. In the spring, he conducted Durante’s Magnificat in B-Flat Major in collaboration with UNT’s Baroque Orchestra. In the 2025-2026 academic year, he will serve the same role with UNT’s auditioned Concert Choir, and un-auditioned treble choir, Camerata. On top of these assignments and his academic course load, Napoli sings with the school’s premier vocal ensemble, the UNT A Cappella Choir.
Gettysburg College
In May 2019, Napoli graduated with a B.M.E. from the Sunderman Conservatory at Gettysburg College. There, he had the pleasure of serving as Assistant Director to Dr. Robert Natter and the Gettysburg College Choir & Gettysburg Concert Choir. It was Dr. Natter who also gave Napoli his first commission, Lux Aeterna, for the College Choir in 2017. Robby was also privileged to intern with Dr. Brent Talbot & the Gettysburg Children’s Choir during his undergraduate studies, for whom he conducted, taught, and arranged. As an educator, Napoli served as a Peer Learning Associate for the Music Theory Department.
